TRANSITION: DAY FOURTEEN

DAY FOURTEEN: Blue polka dot trousers, Topshop 

If these look familiar, your eyes are not deceiving you – you might recall that a few months back, I featured these trousers in green [here]. I loved them so much that when Topshop reissued them in blue, I ran as fast as my little legs would carry me to grab a pair before they sold out, which of course they duly did and quickly.

I’ve been wearing them pretty much constantly, as have several other members of the fashion department - leading to some near-misses in the identical outfit stakes but they’re so versatile and comfy that its inevitable that one day two of us will eventually turn up in the same trews.

While they sold out at the speed of light, there were several pairs hanging out on eBay waiting for a good home when I looked earlier today and for bargain prices too. I’m hoping that Topshop will release another colourway soon, maybe a deep pink would be nice? What colour would you like to see them in?

TRANSITION: DAY THIRTEEN

DAY THIRTEEN: Bee Mine playsuit, Monsoon Fusion x Burt's Bees


Third day on the trot of sunshine and it's gone straight to my brain. And wardrobe. I picked up this cute little playsuit on the day of my now infamous Marni at H&M binge, arriving at the newly revamped Monsoon store at Marble Arch dragging my loot and grinning like a loon.


I wasn't meant to spend any more money after my blowout up the road but the second I laid eyes on this piece, all sensibility went flying out of the window and my card came flying into view again. Oops.

This playsuit is a collaboration between Monsoon and Burt's Bees in aide of the Honey Bee, which is slowly dying out in Britain. With every purchase from the range you receive a packet of wild flower seeds to sow in your garden/pot/window box, which will abstract the bees back. So really, my splurge was worthy rather than naughty this time, no? Plus, how cute are the little bees that are dotted all over the honeycomb print?


It's funny, everyone who sees it thinks that it's actually a dress because of the loose style of the bottom half which I quite like as most of my other playsuits are shorter and more boyishly structured. More girly than my usual style but I guess sometimes I have to step out of my tomboy box. (Says the girl who wore neon pink and florals yesterday.)

TRANSITION: DAY TWELVE

DAY TWELVE: Floral top, New Look


Two days on the trot of sunshine so I figured it was time to celebrate with a somewhat more blinding outfit. I bought this Mary Katrantzou-inspired tee from New Look back in February with the ambition of wearing it to LFW but of course with the weather being as it was, it stayed buried under various layers throughout. I never thought I would wear as loud a pattern at this but the geometric style makes it less fussy floral and more fashion forward, especially when you throw a bit of neon into the mix. 


Yes, the neon obsession continues - I dug this skirt from last spring/summer's Boutique by Jaeger out of the back of my wardrobe for the express purpose of wearing it with this top and burning the retinas of my fellow commuters. Fun, sunny times.

TRANSITION: DAY ELEVEN

DAY ELEVEN: Silk pajama style top, Marni at H&M


Sorry for the absence, I had some very sad news on Friday and didn't really feel like blogging, plus what I was wearing was heavily wintery, somewhat matching my mood to the grey skies.


Come Saturday, I was feeling a bit chipper, what with the little bit of sunshine before the pissing rain took hold I decided it was time to try out another piece from my Marni at H&M haul. On a side note, after several fittings of the lilac and gold brocade trousers, I made my peace with them and decided that unless I was willing to drop the money (that I don't have) to get them altered, they would end up consigned to the back of the wardrobe and thus it was time for them to go back to the store, which they duly did.


So instead, I figured it was time to wear my silk patterned pajama top. I was a bit apprehensive as I thought it might look like I'd literally rolled out of bed but I threw caution to the wind and I have to say, this is officially now one of my comfiest pieces and as soon as the weather improves, it'll be coming out to play again.

DAY TEN: Floral trophy trousers, Limited at New Look


To a certain degree, whatever I'm working on at work seems to seep into my personal wardrobe at home. This week, I've been working on a trophy trousers page and already a fan of printed trousers, I couldn't help but add this pair from the Limited range at New Look to my collection. 


If you follow me on twitter (@adulescent), you might have seen that I conducted a quick straw poll on Saturday to gauge reactions - these are a little bit brighter than my normal styles but the flashes of green neon clinched the deal for me and clearly they did for you guys as it was a runaway 11-1 in favour of keeping them.


With the glorious sunshine today, I thought it was the perfect weather to debut them. What do you all think? Would you rock a pair of trophy trousers or are these a trend too far?
