TRANSITION: DAY TWENTY TWO

DAY TWENTY TWO: Printed tee, Miss Selfridge

So, the great battle of the British weather continues. My daily routine seems to go: wake up to blue skies, realise that the temperature's still single digits and then by mid-afternoon get attacked by the rain. All of the spring/summer stuff that I'd started wearing is firmly back in the wardrobe until the temperatures pick up because this certainly isn't Miami.

However, never one to admit defeat, I am trying to pretend that the office is a tropical paradise by wearing this really, really colourful tee from Miss Selfridge. I'm not usually one for such full on prints if they're not on trousers but I am however sucker for both leopard print and palm trees. So bam, SOLD.

I had a hard time deciding whether to choose this purple/blue/green colourway or the slightly brighter pink/orange/yellow but the darker hues won out this time. You can get the colourway I'm wearing [here] or the pink version [here], each for £24.

Roll on, summer.

Worn with: grey skinnies, Topshop; Tortoiseshell Wayfarers, Ray-Ban.

AUTUMN: DAY SIXTEEN

DAY SIXTEEN: Latin tee, Marc by Marc Jacobs

The other week I had a last minute trip to Paris for work to assist on a few shoots which turned out to be a really fun trip. After our second shoot, we were lumbering through the streets of Paris on our way back to our hotel before we legged it to the Eurostar when we stumbled across the Marc by Marc Jacobs store.

As my editor knows how obsessed I am with MJ, he rolled his eyes and said that we could have a brief pitstop. Not needing to be told twice, I virtually sprinted into the shop and being a seasoned MJ shopper I knew that somewhere in the store there would be a sale corner. It took me approximately 10 seconds to home in on it and more specifically, the latin tees that were going for €5 each.  Total bargain.

I have this weird love for Latin. When I was at school, it was my most hated subject but since doing my English degree at university, I have a whole new appreciation of it. The script on this tee is hard to read in the photo (apologies for the terribly MySpace-y photo as well) but it reads Veritas Inlustrat which means truth enlightens. You may’ve noticed that I’m wearing another one in Day Fourteen – that one reads Inter Nos (between us). I like these tees as not everyone knows what they say. Is that weird?

Worn with: Necklace, Freedom Premium; Striped cardigan, Topshop.

SUNGLASSES: DAY TWENTY SEVEN

DAY TWENTY SEVEN: Purple oversized sunglasses, Topshop
It’s been another crazy day of shopping in town with Trina and in my exhausted state, I felt that another pair of HUGE sunnies was in order today. I’ve had these dark purple sunglasses from Topshop for a couple of years now and they’re a pair that I come back to over and over because they’re so flattering as a) they’re massive, b) they’re not black. I find that black sunglasses can look really heavy and overwhelming on a lot of people, particularly if you’re fair like me so I tend to go for darker shades of colours instead.
Worn with: Woven leopard print blazer, Topshop; White tee, Asos; Glasses necklace, Me & Zena; Black leather panel leggings, H&M; Black Chuck Taylors, Converse; Black 2.55 bag, Chanel.
