LBD X LFW DAY TWO
DAY TWO: BLACK PERSPEX SLEEVE MINI, UNIQUE COLLECTION
Now, it wouldn't be LFW if I didn't wear something a little bit crazy and a little bit more fash-wan for at least one day of the week. With another beautiful blue sky and temperatures creeping up, I figured it was time to bust out this beauty.
Little Black Dress collaborated with the University of Salford's fashion department for their Unique Collection. This dress was designed by Jessica Seargant and it immediately caught my eye with its Sixties shape, neoprene fabric and totally mental sleeves!
Since the dress itself was such a stand out piece, I decided to keep the rest of my outfit simple and let the dress do the talking. I popped one of my favourite striped long sleeve tees from H&M underneath to keep me warm against any sudden chills, plus I liked the way the stripes contrast with the perspex discs.
I admit that I also added a pair of leather hot pants underneath as the dress is definitely on the mini side and even though I'm only 5'3", I didn't want to take any chances. I'll leave the knicker flashing to random celebrities.
As its the weekend, I'm not dragging around my usual amount of stuff so I opted for my grey felt and leather document folder from Paperchase that acts as a wonderful clutch. I kept the rest of my silhouette simple with black opaques from Pretty Polly, my trusty knee high Dune boots are great for running around in and I'm keeping the sun out of my eyes with some big dark glasses from Kurt Geiger. For a little pop of colour, I've added a slick of red lipstick in two ton tomato from Clinique.

SATURDAY GEMS
Ah, a return to normal life on a weekend. With the last two taken up by Bestival and then fashion week, I was really, really ready just to chill out and do normal stuff this weekend but clearly, I wasn't quite ready to let go of some aspects of my previous weekends' wardrobe and makeup options.
Hitting the park with Holly the sausage in the glorious sunshine, I figured that it was as good a time as any to road test a new bit of bling. I picked it up last week when I got invited to go and check out the new flagship Primark store on the corner of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street.
Let me tell you, that place is BIG - four floors and god only knows how many square metres of fast fashion. It took me a good hour to cover traipse around the whole building and that was without the crowds, although admittedly I was juggling a glass of champagne and a basket brimming full of clothes.
[above, L to R: champagne and empty aisles, the EPIC coloured denim wall]
I have to say, having the run of a virtually empty Primark was amazing plus this branch is the first to stock the whole of the Limited Edition collection, which when we saw it a few weeks ago at their press day had us all oohing and aahing - this necklace is part of it and at the knockdown price of £8 its a winning edition to my treasure trove of massive sparkly necklaces - I just wish I'd got it before fashion week. Still, just as good for strutting around the park in the sunshine as it would've been at Somerset House.
PS: What do you think of the new image style? Yay or nay? Drop me a note and let me know in the comments section.
Worn with: Parka and studded jeans, Zara; drop hem tee, Primark; Checked shirt, Old Navy; plimsolls, Converse; studded sunnies, Valentino; mini bag, NW3 by Hobbs.

BRIGHTS: DAY FOURTEEN
DAY FOURTEEN: Studded sandals, River Island
With the brief window of a whole day of sunshine that yesterday afforded me (thank god as I was shooting outside), I took the opportunity to finally wear my mental new sandals from River Island that I bought over Jubilee weekend.
I'd been lusting after these for a while but I didn't know if they were a step too far until my lovely friend Holly convinced me that yes, we both needed them in our lives. Matchy matchy.
Anyway, I digress. I don't usually go for sandal styles with an ankle strap as God has cursed me with dreaded cankles but I think that frankly anyone looking at these is so distracted by the colourful spikes that they fail to notice my fat ankles.
Unfortunately, I was running around like a loon yesterday thanks to the weather and a brief hour of cloud-related panic that I only managed to snap this quick photo of my sandal-clad feet on the tube. Must do better next time. Apologies.
In the meantime, if you fancy your own pair of mental sandals, they're available [here] for a very reasonable £35.
Worn with: Khaki jeans, Topshop; neon varnish, American Apparel.
